Three days a week is not a compromise

We asked 186 office workers how many days they can stand in the same room. Most did not pick the kitchen, and they did not pick five days either.

On one Budapest floor we counted the phone booths, the meeting rooms, and the places where someone can sit down without performing.

We looked at the plants on one floor as if they were furniture: where they stand, who keeps them, and when they turn into background.

Two teams traded the same afternoon for a walk. It was not a sports day. We watched whether they returned to the same argument.

For three weeks one floor took no internal calls between nine and eleven. The quiet was not wellness. It was working time.

We poured four coffees into unmarked cups. The most expensive one did not win. Neither did the most familiar brand.

A sofa in the lobby is not culture yet. It starts to be culture when someone stays after hours, and not only for the photograph.
