Three days a week is not a compromise

We asked 186 office workers how many days they can stand in the same room. Most did not pick the kitchen, and they did not pick five days either.
The argument usually ends in two sentences. One side wants the full week back. The other defends remote work. The conversations for this issue kept landing on a third sentence: three days, and on those three days there has to be a reason to be there.

Three days is not less office. It is a different rhythm. Monday and Friday empty out, and Tuesday to Thursday overload the room if the space is still built for a five-day week. The rest of this issue takes those three days apart: space, body, mind, food, and whatever stays in the building after work.
The question is not whether we are in. The question is whether the day in the building has a structure.
